商业模式创新是家族企业建立长期竞争优势的重要来源,对家族企业突破代际传承瓶颈、适应动态市场环境具有重要战略意义。然而,现有研究对家族企业商业模式创新仍缺乏深入探讨。本文基于家族企业治理主体的特殊性,提出“跨家族联结”概念,利用边界理论,从经历维度(教育背景、行业经验)和身份维度(创业元老、董事角色)探索了两类群体互动对商业模式创新的作用以及组织间网络的边界约束。利用中国创业企业成长动态跟踪数据库(CPSED Ⅱ)中769家家族企业的数据进行实证分析,结果表明:家族企业领导班子在经历维度的跨家族联结能显著促进商业模式创新,而身份维度的跨家族联结对商业模式创新具有抑制作用。投资者网络中机构投资者占比和供应商网络的行业多样性均正向调节上述关系。研究拓展了商业模式研究的对象情境,也从商业模式的视角丰富了对家族企业成长的讨论,为家族企业优化治理结构、构建“内外协同”的创新生态提供了实践启示。
