畅通人口跨区域流动渠道有助于构建全国统一劳动力市场和培育一体化技术市场。文章借助高德地图、腾讯地图和新浪微博地理标识大数据构造人口跨市流动指标,结合城市对层面合作申请发明型专利数据,考察人口跨市流动对城市间合作创新的影响及其作用机制。研究发现,人口跨市流动会增加城市间合作申请发明型专利数量,并且对地理距离、经济距离和制度距离更大的城市间合作创新促进效应更强。文章利用历史事件构建的地理距离工具变量,在缓解内生性问题后,结论依旧成立。机制检验表明,突破文化差异的隐性壁垒是人口跨市流动促进城市间合作创新的作用渠道。具体来说,人口跨市流动通过减少文化差异,进而增进双边信任和提高社会包容性,推动城市间合作创新。进一步考察发现,跨市失信案件数量的增加会削弱人口跨市流动合作创新的促进作用。文章结论表明,建设一体化劳动力市场是促进统一技术市场的关键所在。
